John and I sang side by side in the bass section of Exeter Philharmonic Choir - always the right notes, not necessarily in the right order! Our harmony went further than the music and our conversations ranged over music, literature and life in general. John was always so amazingly open to new ideas and thoughts. He was a noble spirit and a truly good man. Ted
