We used to go together and watch Essex play at Chelmsford. Long after he left Waltham Abbey, my grandson and I were watching a game when John suddenly appeared next to us! What a surprise! he had come to meet friends who were Somerset supporters. He spent the rest of the day with us. To the confusion of my daughter, my grandson texted her to say he had just met the man who married her! John officiated at both our son's and daughter's weddings.
