Jane 2nd January 2019

Dear John. I met him at Great Ormond Street Hospital, where I was a nurse in the heart/lung unit. He joined our team, offering all sorts of support to families. Everyone liked him and he was so good at reaching out to the worried, stressed and tired - even those resistent to help. He used football as necessary to get people onside!! On a personal level - once we both left GOSH, we met occasionally for a pizza and chatted about everything (except football), putting the world to rights. I wont forget the day he trudged along the riverbank in Greenwich on a cold, rainy day, to visit for a while when I had slipped a disc and could hardly walk. It was a privilege to be an occasional friend. I'm very sad that he is gone but his effect will last a long time. I wish Rosemary and family peace and comfort in good memories - Jane
